Infomedium Datacenter

Synopsis: The Infomedium Datacenter was located in the Brand X Internet co-location facility. The facility was located in the Trizec Properties owned Marina Towers on Admiralty way in Marina Del Rey, CA.

The Marina Towers are famous for being one of the oldest and largest Internet peering points in the Los Angeles area and that the Internet network there was originally installed by the government subsidized DARPA project. Perhaps the most famous client of the building is the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers or just ICANN for short. ICANN is located in the USC Information Sciences Institute (also in the building) and oversees the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA). ICANN and IANA's functions combined are to manage the Internet functions previously handled by the government, which pretty much include all Top Level Domain (TLD) management and delegation of the Internet Protocol (IP) address space.
